Note: It is from oneself experience. It is not Official.

St. John’s Apostle Church(SJAC) is a Catholic Church set up in 1967, situated in a remote area known as Jakhong Village. SJAC is a part of Nongkhlaw parish since Nongkhlaw parish was inaugurated back 2007 or 2008 (estimate). Before SJAC became a part of nongkhlaw parish it was belong to Mairang Parish. Back then SJAC does not face as it appear in the present but it was a shelter made out of bamboo and unpolished plank. It was in a horrible condition to observe. There was no benches or chair to sit, elders sat on a cross plank, balance by some stones, as some of the children sat on the floor(Back then I’m still a young one as I joint other kids on the floor praised God together). Jakhong has good numbers of Catholicism since it was started. Hence, in the year 2005 or 2006 (estimate) Mairang parish priest had a plan to build this church with bricks and cements as you can see yourself today where it stands, Church looking well and fine.

In the present, with the determined and hardship of the office bearer, SJAC continue to develop in quality.

On 29th January 2017, SJAC celebrate it’s 50 Golden Jubilee as Arch Bishop Dominic Jala was the main celebrant for the glory Celebration. Golden Jubilee was a great success where the faithful all around the villages took part with their full enthusiasm and full spirit with enormous blitheness. As some observance to mention that shelters of the faithful are full with decoration. Meanwhile they are physically, mentally prepared.  There is no word to describe the delightful of the faithful of Jakhong when the faithful from near or far has gathered altogether to celebrate the most precious day once in a fifty years. Thanks to the Heavenly Father for his blessing and continue to live among the Jakhong faithful and so does all who belive in him. Some says that as his faithful continue to pray and worship him there is no ending of his blessing to his children.

Thank You Father Almighty, the Son and the Holy spirit.

Thank You Mother Mary do continue to pray for thy children of God.
